Atkinson Returns From American Adventure

We are delighted to announce our first signing of the summer as Louise Atkinson rejoins the club following her overseas studies.

Atkinson is a player well known at the club having started her footballing journey under the current coaching staff as a junior player. She had a brief spell at Bishop Auckland as a junior before returning to Norton to finish her youth football development.

Louise was part of our U18 League winning side but while playing her junior football on a Saturday was pushing into the First Team and playing FAWNL on a Sunday. She made 12 FAWNL appearances in the 2018/19 scoring twice, whilst also lifting the County Cup having played in the penalty shoot-out win over Durham Cestria.

The following season saw Atkinson make the move across the pond as she switched the UK for the US for a footballing scholarship. This is where she has remained for 5 years completing a degree in Psychology alongside playing football. Upon the completion of her degree in America, Louise has moved back to the North East where she will complete her Masters Degree while returning to the Amber and Black of Norton.
